| Okanogan artist Russell Bjornestad has been an aide, companion and friend to John Andrist since 1997. A native of Wyoming and Vietnam veteran, Russ has journeyed throughout much of the United States. Much of the time he worked outdoor jobs - from surveying in the North Cascade mountains to oil drilling in Wyoming. For a time he lived as a solitary in the desert of Arizona. | Russell paints
scenes of the Okanogan as well as vistas he has created in his own
