Okanogan artist Russell Bjornestad has been an aide, companion and friend to John Andrist since 1997. A native of Wyoming and Vietnam veteran, Russ has journeyed throughout much of the United States. Much of the time he worked outdoor jobs - from surveying in the North Cascade mountains to oil drilling in Wyoming. For a time he lived as a solitary in the desert of Arizona. Russell paints   scenes of the Okanogan as well as vistas  he has created in his own imagination. Inqueries about viewing the paintings shown here and others by  Rusell are welcome. E-mail Mary Koch
